On the occasion of the celebrations for the 160th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Italy and the US, the Embassy of Italy in Washington DC is organizing an event in collaboration with the Fulbright Commission in Italy. The event will take place in the second half of the year and will include a conference.
Established in 1946, Fulbright is one of the oldest and most important cultural exchange programs worldwide. Since 1948, when the program was first established in Italy, the Fulbright Commission in Italy has provided more than 10,000 accomplished students, scholars, teachers, artists and professionals of all backgrounds and fields, with the opportunity to study, teach and conduct research, exchange ideas, and contribute to finding solutions to complex global challenges. The Program is the result of a bilateral agreement between the US and the Italian Government. The Fulbright Commission assigns around 120 scholarships every year for both US and Italian students and scholars.
